Finally, we arrived in Antarctica! While strong winds initially prevented a landing at Half Moon Island, the stunning scenery left us in awe. The next day, calm waters allowed us to set foot on Cuverville Island, a dream come true. We were greeted by adorable penguins, marking a special moment as we officially checked off visiting all seven continents.

Our Antarctic exploration continued with a visit to Neko Harbor, renowned for its dynamic glacier calving. Penguins waddled along the shore, and we witnessed the incredible sight of three avalanches. The day ended with a peaceful snowfall as we relaxed by the ship's pool.

Petermann Island was our next stop, where we explored the Argentine Hut and a memorial cross. In the afternoon, a Zodiac cruise took us to Winter Island, home to the Ukrainian Vernadsky Research Station. During the cruise, we had a close encounter with a skua, which the expedition team had to chase away due to avian flu concerns.

Although we couldn't land due to avian flu precautions, the post office team visited our ship, allowing us to buy souvenirs, stamps, and mail postcards. A highlight of the trip was the polar plunge, jumping into the freezing Antarctic waters—an exhilarating experience! As we sailed back through the Drake Passage, we enjoyed onboard activities, including a bean bag toss competition and afternoon tea with an ocean view.
